World Economic Forum Day 4

Day4

30 January 2010 marked day 3 of the World economic forum 2010 in Davos. Gender agenda was the session that started the day. It was proposed that companies perform better if the female talent is equally integrated and that gender parity in the workforce was required.

The next important issue was to secure security of cyberspace as research suggests that a malicious software is introduced every 30 seconds. The session promoted the safety of government organizations, nation-states and companies which are constantly under the threat of hacking.

The next session was focused on Europe, which faces the task of defining it’s effectively role in the new world order. The key points of the session were the need of revision in the foreign policy of Europe, the need of Europe to capitalize on its strengths, building of effective regulated common markets and to protect the human rights. The next thing was the Global redesign initiative with young leaders. The session discussed in encouraging youth in policy making, rethinking intellectual property and many other issues.

The next session shifted the focus on the east as nearly 3 billion people of Asia are the contributors of more than half of the world’s GDP. Asia’s GDP will overtake Europe’s GDP of this year. In Asia there is a need for inclusive model of economic development. This will ensure equitable distribution of growth across all sectors. There were also talks on redesigning of financial regulation. This proposal is being worked at Financial Stability Board (FSB), the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the G20.

The forum also discussed on financial risk management and the Global Redesign initiative with Global changemakers.
