It is difficult to start a new small scale business with many barriers of finance, real estate, good employees and many more. Once the business is set up then comes the most important thing on which your business thrives- Sales. It is pretty obvious that without sales there will be no profits. Hence, it’s important to make a good product and to sell it is even more important. So here are a few sales tips to boost your small business.

  1. Know your product- There is no room for mediocre products in today’s competitive world. Hence, one should know thoroughly that what you are doing to benefit the customer and what the customer wants in your services.

  2. Once you have known what you are serving then you must be able to explain the customer about the product. Forget the USP of your product; instead focus on how the product is useful to the customer.

  3. Once you have convinced the customer about the benefits of your product, then qualify your prospect and one should sell the product only to persons who require it or else it is considered as a waste of time.

  4. The company should not expect any salesperson to be 100% part of every sales process. It is not possible. Instead break the sales person in small steps like letter writing, setting appointments. Writing proposals, cold calling, identifying flaws etc. and then increase the sales training for excellence in organization.

  5. No salesperson is a superstar. At the same time expect something spectacular from every salesperson in some department. If not, it is better to have an empty desk and don’t worry about it as it was an expense the company didn’t need.

  6. Customer Relation- Maintain a healthy relation with your customer. One can gain a competitive edge by being on time with a groomed personality. Always be appropriately dressed and be upbeat. In short build trust on the customer.

  7. Make it easy for the customer to buy your product. Many times one may have come up with some great product and due to some reasons like no stocks, busy phone line etc.  One is unable to buy it. Hence design a simple buying process for customers.

  8. One should ask the customer for a feedback after the services you have provided them. This will give you an idea that where you are standing and how to improve.
